2006 MAKE-N-TAKE

Frog Street Press was
originated by classroom teachers Sharon Burnett, Amy Noble, and Debra Wood as
they realized young children were learning and retaining information with the
successful combination of music and print.
The “Sing and Read” big book collections were created while still teaching
together in their classrooms!
As the years
progressed so did their product line with over 850 items currently
available. All Frog Street Press
materials have been developed and used by teachers, while building confident
and successful students in classrooms across the nation. The latest additions to Frog Street Press are
“Sing and Read” Little Books, “Lilypad” Leveled
Readers and Giggle Games which have received several awards including the 2006
Teachers’ Choice Award.

STEPHEN FITE
As long as Stephen Fite remembers, he has always loved music. At the young age of five, he had big dreams
of being the fifth Beatle. While the
whole British band thing never panned out, he has found something just as good,
if not better, in playing for throngs of screaming fans - the very young
variety.
In 1985, Fite realized his dream when he produced his first
album. In 1990, he started touring as a
children’s performer and, in 1995, began booking large concerts across the
South and
His composing, which
is geared towards pre-kindergarten and lower elementary-aged children, spans
the spectrum of styles from rock to reggae.
He’s also been known to dabble in a little Dixieland and Broadway. And while he loves the writing and production
end of music, it’s the kids he most loves.
Stephen has received
multiple awards including three Parent’s Choice awards, two Parent’s Guide
Children’s Media awards, a National Association of Parent Publications (NAPPA)
Gold award, and two NAPPA silver awards.

The Magic of Music & Movement
This hands-on, participatory workshop will bring to teachers a new perspective on using music with children. They will see the connection between music and movement and the active nature of the child, as well as, how music can effectively be used to meet the cognitive, emotional, social, and physical needs of young children. Stephen will give the participants activities they can take with them and use immediately in the classroom.
