Lynne Ecenbarger

 

 

Lynne spent 8 years in Central Administration with the Fort Wayne Community Schools Corporation, where her duties included District Title 1 Coordinator, Staff Development Coordinator, Curriculum Coordinator, and Gifted and Talented Coordinator.  Prior to administration she was an elementary special education teacher, as well as a teacher of grades K, 2, and 5.  She left administration to be closer to the students at the building level and is currently the Literacy Specialist for the Wane-Westland School District in Westland, MI.  Her duties include articulating the curriculum PreK-6, designing and implementing instructional modifications, providing staff development opportunities, modeling for classroom teachers, providing observation and feedback, and conducting program evaluations.  She has consulted with over 700 schools throughout 48 states.  Lynne presents workshops and seminars promoting literacy across the United States as a trainer for S.D.E. (Staff Development for Educators),  S.D.R. (Staff Development Resources), Literacy First, and the National Geographic Society.  She is the author of three teacher resource books:  Method Mania: Activities to Teach Comprehension Skills and Strategies, Method Mania: Activities to Teach Phonological Awareness Skills and Strategies, and Spelling P.A.C.T.  Lynne also served as an adjunct faculty member for the Teachers’ College at Indiana/Purdue University, Fort Wayne for ten years.

 

 

Janiel Wagstaff

 

 

Janiel is a current primary grade teacher in Alabama.  Her seventeen years of teaching have been spent in Utah and Washington, D.C.  She has recently moved to Alabama to be near her family.

 

As a teacher of K-2 students, she is always focused on literacy and has written five books for Scholastic about her classroom techniques.  These titles include:  Teaching Reading and Writing with Word Walls, Irresistible Sound Matching Sheets and Lessons that Build Phonemic Awareness, and 20 Tricky Writing Problems: Solved!

 

In addition to teaching and writing, Janiel has been giving workshops nationally for more than ten years.  This is her second visit to the Alabama Kindergarten Conference
